Smiles

This little guy rest on my wall to represent my mood. Most of the time it is the smiling face, just because that is normally what I am. Sometime I might not be happy, but I look it.

I like him, he reminds me to be happy throughout the day and to keep a smile.

Disclaimer:

On this blog I will be juggling daggers. If you decide that you want to try and catch one and can't... sorry I guess. This is my blog, I will write about life and the different things that are going on in it. If something offends you I'm sorry, but you are the one that made the choice to read it.

Daggers are sharp, but I won't be held accountable if you can't catch one.

Devotions?

Devotions are confusing? I add the question mark because I really don't know what they are. I have an idea of what they might look like to some people, but for me I'm still trying to figure that one out. At one point I would spend time reading and studying the Bible, about 30-45 minutes every day religiously. That I saw to be a problem, because I was not doing my devotions to spend time with God, I was doing them to check them off as something that I had done that day. Once I had check "devos" off for the day, spending time with God was not something that I thought about throughout the day. I figured, I spent time with Him this morning, I'm good for the day. I would pray at night, but even that was just to say that I did. I really did not want to do either of them. Looking back I see that there was no... purpose? Again, I don't really know what devotions have or are like.

Devotions have always been kind of weird, and they have only grown in their confusion. Awhile ago I thought that devotions meant spending time reading God's word. Then I thought that it meant studying God's word, or learning about God's word. Just recently I thought that it just meant spending time with God. Now I'm just confused and feel like I have no commitment to God or His word. I don't really spend time studying God's word, nor praying to God, or anything structured for that matter. The interesting part is that I am still learning a lot about God. I'm learning a lot about myself and my relation to God, but I haven't done "devotions" in about 3 months. What does that mean? What are devotions? Do devotions have anything to do with devoting your self to God?

People

It is interesting to think how one person can change your life. Whether it be just for a moment or for the rest of you life. They don't mean to, nor do they always even know that they are causing such a radical change in in the life of someone else, just by being there. They don't do anything, they are simply just there at the same time as you. They are able to change your reactions to a situation, how your might have interacted with other people, or even what people you choose to interact with. The words that you use to how you carry yourself, people influence people to cause a momentary change in behavior or attitude.

You all know that this is true because you partake in the change or you have seen it. Sure it is different for different people, but it still happens. I would give examples of this theory, but the only ones that are coming to mind would need names or specific situations where you could figure out the name that wasn't placed with the situation that I'm explaining. therefore, be creative and think how this principle affects you own life.

How much do with Christ change our life - a thought that just came to me as I was writing this. There are people in our lives that really don't even matter that much and we let them change how we even breath, yet Christ doesn't seem to get a say in some peoples lives. I let some people change how I would live in a day just by being with them, yet I don't seem to let Christ even change my attitude. People of little importance seem to get the most influence, the God of greatest importance doesn't seem to get any influence.
